MEDT - 2200 Practicum: Microbiology

Prerequisite(s): MEDT-2100 and MEDT-2160
This practicum provides the student with the opportunity to practice skills in a supervised clinical experience within a hospital or clinic laboratory. These experiences will focus on the principles and procedures of clinical microbiology. Emphasis is on the application of knowledge and technical skills to clinical testing, methodology, instrumentation, quality control, correlation of laboratory data with pathophysiology, OSHA practices, and medical laboratory technician professionalism.
