PHIL - 1100 Critical Thinking in the Information Age Prerequisite(s): PHIL 1010 or PHIL 1060 recommended but not required Satisfies a humanities requirement for associates degree Critical thinking skills are sought and valued by employers, improve performance in many college programs and courses, are a major focus of many graduate-level entry exams (e.g., GMAT, GRE, and LSAT), and help improve daily decision-making.
This course provides practice and deliberate attention towards developing strong critical thinking skills to navigate today’s complicated information landscape including websites/apps, advertising, and various types of media such as television, movies, music/radio/streaming, and news/information media.
