AUTO - 1370 Ignition Systems

This course covers the different types of ignition systems used in the automotive industry. The class will enable the student to understand the operation and repair of the ignition system. This includes setting spark plug gap; oscilloscope usage; and theory and fundamentals of electronic and PCM ignition systems, including DI, DIS, and COP. Also covered are basic engine mechanical testing, both compression and cylinder leakage. Special service tools will be introduced to the student for use in diagnosing ignition system related problems.
